Baby Sunday: 29 weeks

This week has been full of ups and downs. The week started off a little bumpy when I would wake up and feel like I had been hit by a truck, I was so worn out. From what? I have no idea. My body needed some serious rest for some reason. Then things got better as the week wore on and by Thursday I was feeling much better and getting things done in a normal time frame. Matt told me that since we were on vacation for Mother's Day he was going to do something for me once we got home. I told him I wanted it to be a surprise and a surprise it was! Note: I had no clue what we were going to be doing. On Saturday, we drove downtown and met up with our friend Jeff and his date for the day. We went to this adorable little restaurant for lunch called The Grove. It had the cutest decor and fresh dishes. I really liked it. Then I ask, "What are we doing next?" Matt says, "Oh we're going to the aquarium." I was slightly disappointed that that is what he had planned. But I said, "Oh neat!" Then I'm thinking, "Why the heck did he tell me to dress up then?" Little did I know Matt was being sneaky and I soon figured out we were headed to the theater. Jeff had the tickets so I didn't know what show we were seeing. We walk up to the door with our seats and I see the the playbill: TOPOL in FIDDLER IN THE ROOF! The Topol! The actor from the movie, who's played Tevye over 2,500 times in his career. He's on his farewell tour at 74 years old. I was sooooo excited! Just a few weeks ago I had mentioned that all the good tickets were taken and I was bummed that we won't get a chance to go. Matt had planned this thing out a month ago! I must say he usually can't keep things from me that long, but boy I was beyond thrilled! AND earlier in the week Matt painted my toenails for me because I am now having some difficulty comfortably reaching them. As my SIL Cher would say, "I think I hit the husband jackpot!":) Love him.

Baby Sunday: 29 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: The pregancy perks are now in full swing! Example #1- We stopped at a cute little donut vendor while we walked around downtown. Which bytheway is a bad idea in Houston in May. It was roasting hot. Well the lady who made our donuts says, "It's so hot out here, would you like a water bottle for free. You need to stay cooled off with that baby in there." Score, free food! She was so sweet. Example #2- I had to use the ladies room during intermission and the line was outrageous. So I'm standing there in doing the potty dance in all my pregnant glory when the gracious ladies around me say (in a Texas accent), "Oh honey, you can go on up to the front of the line, we understand don't you worry about a thing!" Have I mentioned how much I love southern hospitality and being pregnant. And no matter where I go I get nice comments about how cute I look. If I ever need a self esteem boost I just head on over to the beauty supply store and those ladies are so friendly and sweet. No rampages this week that I can think of.

Elations/Worries: Elated that I'm able to be as active as I've been up to this point. I feel very blessed. Worries- My back has been hurting be more and more when I sleep. I bought this special back n' belly pillow that helps a ton-which takes up half of our bed so I've said goodbye to latenight snuggling for now, but sitting through 3 hours of church is a little bit of a challenge. But I'm determined to tough it out because I've still got 11 weeks to go! Elated that I found a great Prenatal Yoga DVD. It feels so good to stetch out my body and be focused on the way my body moves. I think I may have been a hippie in a former life. Also elated once again with all the movement going on inside me. Although I think he's going to run out of room real fast!

Aversions/Cravings: Watermelon. And I've been slightly obsessed with MultiGrain Cheerios as my night time snack. Italian food has been popular this week too. Hummus has become an aversion and a craving. Aversion because I get heartburn afterwards and craving because well, who doesn't love hummus? So I eat it and I deal with the aftermath.

Hahaha... I'm glad Matt and I could be sneaky! :) We even made sure we communicated through channels you wouldn't be able to detect. And poor Jenny REALLY wanted to ruin the surprise because she was so excited and kind of annoyed she had to keep her excitement in, but I think she did a good job. :)

It was awesome to hang out with you guys again!
