Road Trip to Texas- Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, White Sand Dunes

The evening of Day 1 we stopped in Vegas. We stayed at the MGM Grand and perused the town before dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. I had never been to Vegas before. It was ok. I've decided people go to Vegas for 3 reasons 1) Get drunk 2) Gamble or 3) Shop and spend money on food and shows. Since I try to refrain from options 1 and 2 and don't have the necessary funds to sustain #3, there wasn't a ton for us to do. But it was fun to see all the nightlife and lights.

Day 2- On the way to Arizona we stopped at the Hoover Dam. It was amazing! The pictures tell it all. They are currently building a huge freeway across the dam so that people not interested in seeing the dam can cross right over it instead of around. Very cool.

Day 3- We stopped at the Grand Canyon on the way to New Mexico. I haven't been here since I was a little kid. It was so peaceful and gorgeous. While we were walking around I over heard so many other languages being spoken. I didn't ever realize that so many people came to see the Grand Canyon. Yet I've lived to the U.S. my entire life and don't even blink twice about seeing it. Makes you realize how beautiful our country really is.

I saw this when we were stopping for gas and I made Matt stop so we could go and eat at it. We used to go here for every birthday party and special FHE when we lived in Arizona. I love this place, it hasn't changed a bit. I hit the skeeball(sp?) machine and scored some serious tickets to redeem at the prize center. I felt like a 10 year old, it was great! And the pizza was just as good as I remember. Great pit stop.

Random picture- My mom sent this Edible Arrangment to us the day we moved in. Very sweet. I love my mom!

We made sand angels:)

Day 4- We went to the White Sand Dunes in New Mexico. It was literally blinding and like a ton of snow in 90 degree weather. It was sooo neat! We rolled down the hill and walked around with the cold sand squishing between our toes. Probably the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Loved your dam pictures. The dam water was so blue!
