More details to come of all the drama behind the scenes, but to tide you over here are some cute pics of our new baby boy. We love him more than ever.

Say What??!

So apparently the baby has dropped without my knowledge and I'm already dilated to a 3. I guess that explains the sudden waddling on my part. I think this baby may be coming a little bit sooner than we expected. I'm thinking 2 weeks at the most. Wow.

Baby Sunday: 36 weeks

This week has been consumed by more dejunking and "nesting". We went to a an Infant Safety CPR class, which was good and a little funny. Our practice doll only had one arm and a very creepy face. But really who knew there were so many steps to properly install a car seat? Time consuming. We saw to the new Harry Potter movie on Thursday. It was good, not my favorite but good. Friday Matt made me watch the Invasion. This is the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I hate scary movies. We are stuffing in as many movies as we can into our schedules before the baby comes. Saturday my neighbor Stefany hosted a baby shower for me with all our neighbors and few of my friends from church. It was soooo much fun! I got some really cute clothes and lots of practical items as well. I swear I have the best neighbors alive! Thank you thank you thank you! They are so fun to be around and chit chat with. And of course there was amazing food and treats. Matt was an angel and swept and mopped the floors for me, and vacuumed the house while I was gone. I know I say it all the time, but he really is the best. Don't worry I'll post more pics of the shower once I get them from Stef.

Homemade cake, gorgeous!

Blue chocolate covered strawberries, yum.

Me with pretty cake

The spread

I don't know why I look like I'm grimacing in this pic, but this was the coolest milestone calendar I have ever seen.

More gifts

Instead of wasting time and energy on decorations that get thrown away, Stefany and Christy put little buckets of baby stuff around the room that I got to take home with me, very thoughtful and cute.

And now the baby room looks like this! Packed with goodies for the little one.

Baby Sunday: 36 weeks

Here's a little snippet of the peanut in action. He got camera shy once I started filming, but you can see my belly move in the first 15 seconds.

Obsessions/Rampages:
Now I can fully concentrate on getting everything done with the baby room since I've had my last baby shower. I've got oodles of stuff to organize and sort through. I'm pretty much in full "nesting" mode now. That is all I can think about. I start my weekly appointments with my doctor this week so I'm very anxious to see how big the baby is and how my body is progressing. Matt and I are still negotiating on a name, we'll see who wins :)

Elations/Worries: Elated to meet this little boy! I can't wait to wrap him up into a little burrito and snuggle with him. Worries- I had a serious bout of indigestion, stomach ache etc.. all last night. I'm staying home from church today just in case I have to puke or something. I think I may have been a little overzealous with all the yummy food at the baby shower yesterday and now I'm paying for it. Oh but I must say it was worth it, so delish.

Aversions/Cravings: On the menu this week: Rolaids Soft Chews-Wild Cherry Flavor. The following gives me heartburn: food :). My food habits have become reminiscent of my 1st trimester. Cereal, fruit, plain salads, potatoes. Except now I can barely finish a bowl of cereal without feeling like I'm going to burst. Very odd, it all just happened in the last couple of days too.

Baby Sunday: 35 weeks

Holy Cow, we only have 5 weeks left, unbelievable. Anyways, this week was very fun. I've been able to experiment with a few new recipes, my prints for the baby room arrived, we rid our house of a bunch of junk (and yes we've only lived here a year and we already have junk accumulating). I have been diligently selling all of our movies on Ebay so I waste a lot of time shipping movies, posting movies and answering questions. We hope to use the extra moolah to buy a new camera. Friday we went to a new Mexican restaurant which we found to be very yummy. Saturday we went to to a marathon child birthing class. And a marathon it was! We were "classroomed" out by the end of the day-9am-4:30pm. We saw lots of videos with extremely outdated hairstyles, went on a tour of the hospital and the birthing wing, learned relaxation techniques and basically everything you've ever wanted to know or not know about the birthing process. The nursery only had one baby in it, ONE BABY! Definitely a contrast to the nurseries I've been to in Utah which typically house what seems like 1,000 babies. I was very impressed with the quiet birthing room and the postpartum rooms. I think we will be very happy with our choice once the time comes. And can I just tell you how wonderful Matt is?! I think he was only a few of the 15 men at the class that was actually amazed watching the birthing videos instead of grossed out and disgusted. I love him. Today, we are chilling at home enjoying the Sabbath and watching my stomach grow right before our eyes:)

Baby Sunday: 35 weeks

Belly Shot:
You'll notice an increase in my Sunday dresses being long because I can't shave my legs without breaking a rib:)

Obsessions/Rampages: Getting rid of junk is an obsession, we've had random things just lying around the house that all of a sudden started bugging me. We filled 3 trash bags full of clothes that Matt never wears and we are evaluating the rest of our pictures and frames and what we really want to keep and what must go. I love dejunking. I'm hoping to have the baby room all done in a couple weeks. I have some things I want to paint and put up still. I've also been obsessed with finding a good pediatrician around here. There are so many to choose from that it is a little daunting, but I think I have it narrowed down to a couple so now I need to make appointments to meet them. Rampages- People are starting to give me the pity "How are you feeling?" question. I feel like I should be full of complaints and things to whine about when people ask me that, but I really cannot complain. This pregnancy has been very good to me and the few minor aches and pains are nothing that I feel justified to whine about, especially when all around there are women who can't have babies or have a very hard time carrying babies. I just feel extremely grateful and pray that these last 5 weeks will be as good as the last 35.

Elations/Worries: I had a doctors appointment this week and everything is just fine. I'm measuring right on and baby is doing great! I haven't had to deal with any swelling yet, so that has been nice. Also, I'm elated for childbirth now. Well, it comes in waves of panic and joy. Currently I'm elated. The child birthing class really helped prepare me for everything that goes on during labor and all the scenarios. I'm a planner, so I like having a mild idea mapped out in my head of what I want to happen but also be prepared if that doesn't happen. So overall I feel pretty good about pushing a watermelon out of me at the moment:)

Aversion/Cravings: I've had a serious decrease in my appetite this week. My stomach is getting very squished. The following gives me heartburn: chocolate, peanuts, and beans. I'm only able to eat maybe a 1/3 of what I normally eat and I'm full. And if I eat after 8 the heartburn arrives. But one thing that has been really good is a new frozen yogurt place we found last week. They have the most delicious fruity flavors ever and I often go to Sonic and chug a refreshing diet limeade if I'm out running errands. Anything fruity and cold sounds good.

Baby Sunday: 34 weeks

Happy 4th of July! This week has been great! It seems like I always start my posts with that, but it's true, life has been treating us kindly! This weekend Matt had Friday off so we took full advantage and did lots of things around the house, found a new pizza place, spent time at Barnes and Noble and vegged. Saturday we played tennis, which bytheway, have you ever seen a huge 8 month pregnant lady play tennis? Hilarious. I'm klutzy by nature so try tacking on a bowling ball to my torso and expect me to run and hit a ball, yeah right! I only lasted 15 mins. Then we went on a walk, then we decided it was too dang hot to walk much more than 4 blocks so we went back home and stuck our heads in the freezer. Matt helped me do some deep cleaning that has gotten away from me- literally. It's hard to bend over and sweep hair up and clean the baseboards. Then we went to Red Robin to redeem a free burger coupon Matt got for his birthday, food always tastes better when it's free. Then we went to this 4th of July festival thing that had a hot dog eating contest and some cute booths. Or at least Matt told me they were cool. We parked what felt like a million miles away and initially I thought, "Oh it's only maybe a 1/2 mile, I can walk that easy." Add in 100 degree weather + humidity, I thought I was going to die! I was dripping sweat and I could feel the beginnings of heat rash coming on, so I sat in the shade and sipped water while Matt got to see the all the stuff. I got a few, "You go girl"s for being out and doing stuff, so I felt like a trooper:) Then Matt, being the sweetheart that he is, walked all the way back to get the car and came and picked me up when we were done. We were going to stay and watch fireworks but the heat had sucked the life out of us, so we went home and hibernated in our air conditioned house, I don't even want to think about what our electricity bill is going to be this month. Today (Sunday) I got to teach the Sunbeams at church. WOW, kudos to moms with multiples! They are a lively bunch with permanent earplugs. They were very cute and would say cute things about my tummy and touch it. Yoah, the baby just distorted my whole stomach, so it's time to talk about him.

Baby Sunday: 34 weeks

Belly Shot: Normally I wouldn't post a pic of my face looking so cherubic but I can't really hide it anymore. The weight gain has finally reached my cheeks, I guess it was inevitable.

Obsession/Rampages: The baby room is FINALLY coming together. My chair came and it is more comfortable than I could ever imagine. We got his pack n' play/ bassinet. And the place that I'm ordering a few prints from will be open tomorrow and then just one more trip to Ikea for frames and a cute corner book case should do it! I can't believe he is going to be here in 6 weeks! It has gone by so fast. We are still obsessing about names. I have one I love, but Matt hasn't warmed up to it yet. Baby is much more active lately, or maybe I'm just noticing more because he's running out of room, either way it is very fun to watch. Rampage- This is gross, you can stop reading now if you want, I never realized that a pregnant woman could have so much flatulence! Really, it is embarrassing!

Elations/Worries: Elation- My body has felt really good this week, not much discomfort and I've been sleeping pretty well. Worries- I can't look at the scale anymore at the doctors office. Logically I know I'm healthy and on a good weight track but it's still hard to look at. I workout 5 days a week, weight lift 2-3 times a week and eat good so whatever my body wants to pack on is just what it wants. Not much you can do about that. But really, I've decided I hate when pregnant ladies complain about getting fat and stuff, so I probably shouldn't do it:)

Aversions/Cravings: Shredded Wheat with honey is a new favorite cereal. Water is always around and I can't eat beans-they give me the worst heartburn.

Baby Sunday: 33 weeks AND MATT'S BIRTHDAY!

Yesterday was Matt's 28th Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We kicked off his birthday by having him take a half day off of work on Friday. We went to this Chilean restaurant that Matt really wanted to go to. It was apparently very authentic. We walked in and Matt was totally in his element. He was speaking Spanish like it was his native tongue. I loved it. I've never seen him so comfortable. Then we went and saw My Sister's Keeper. And yes Matt wanted to see it, I didn't make him. But I must warn you, YOU WILL CRY YOUR GUTS OUT! I was sobbing, full on ugly face sobbing. Great story. Then we went to the bookstore and vegged. Then Matt said that since it is his birthday he should be able to go to Panda Express. Gag. I loathe that place, but it was his birthday so I obliged. On Saturday for his real birthday I made him french toast for breakfast and he did some yard work, I made a delicious birthday cake, we went to the pool and came home and watched a movie. We are so exciting. Here are a few pics:

Pretty Cake
Chilean Restaurant Upclose
Chilean Restaurant- It wasn't in the nicest part of town and it is missing an "L" after the "E"

Pastel de Choclo- Matt thought it was heaven, me not so much

I ordered a completo. It's essentialy a hotdog the size of your head smothered in tomatoes, avocado and mayo. Yummy

Baby Sunday: 33 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: I think I've felt some nesting going on. I feel the need to tackle more things on my to do list instead of putting them off. Baby boy is only + or - 7 weeks away from getting here. He is getting big. He likes to kick my right side the most and sticks his little bum up into my rib, or at least I think it's his bum. I was gazing at my wardrobe today and dreaming of when I would be able to wear some of my tops again. Finding something to wear for church is a bit of a challenge especially since it's 500 degrees outside and layers aren't fun to wear. Oh well, what can you do. I love my little boy.

Elations/Worries: Like I said, peanut is growing big and strong. Really happy about that. My hips have been killing me the last couple of days and my joints seem to pop with every movement. So I've decided to go to the pool more so I can get some of the pressure off of my body, at least for a little while.

Aversions/Cravings: I've had a sudden craving for cereal this week. I think the coldness of it just sounds good all the time. The only aversion this week was some of Matt's Chilean food, but really that stuff is an acquired taste for most people.

Baby Sunday on Monday: 32 weeks

This week was fantastic. We got oodles of stuff done and in order. I love being productive. The highlights of the weekend are as follows. Friday- Matt and I have gotten back into watching old movies so we watched "On the Waterfront" with Marlon Brando. I've forgotten how good those movies are, people really knew how to act back then. We rented a whole bunch from the library that we hope to watch soon. Saturday- We woke up nice and early, went to breakfast at Panera (which bytheway has the most amazing veggie cream cheese spread I've ever tasted, I was freaking out the whole time I was eating it). Then we went and pick blackberries at a farm about 30 mins from our house. It was so much fun to hunt down the best berries. Then we hit the Costco to stock up on some stuff before the baby comes. We now have toilet paper and paper towels coming out of our ears. Then we came home, unloaded our loot and as we were about to head to the local grocery store for some Father's Day stuff I backed up into our neighbors truck parked on the other side of the street! It sounded horrible, I about died. So while I was sobbing with guilt and embarrassment Matt went and talked to them and looked at the damages. It only broke our taillight and made a dent by their door handle. Hopefully we'll be able to pay them under the table if it doesn't cost much to fix so we don't have to report it to insurance. After that, Matt drove around for the rest of our errands:) After that fiasco, we took a drink break at Sonic- which always turns into me sneaking some of Matt's sodie while he attempts to slap my hand away from it. We went to the Dollar Store to pick up some organizers for Matt's office, which is a disaster of unorganization. We're hoping to remedy that this week. Then we came home and crashed for the rest of the night. Sunday- The Father's Day program at church was good and Matt and I are the new, cool couple that the kids under 3 like to come and play with during sacrament. Our hometeachers little girl Abbie, who is almost 2, grabs some books and beelines for our pew and sits with us and reads during sacrament. And our friends little girl Paige kept looking over at us on the other side of the chapel and saying, "I want to go play with Brother and Sister Anderton." We thought we were pretty cool hanging with the little kids. We love it. I think I smell a nursery calling coming on sometime in the future. Here are some pics from the weekend:

Matt's Father's Day Breakfast. We rounded up Sister Metcalf's crepe recipe and my oh my was it good.

THIS is what Matt REQUESTED for his Father's Day dinner. Bistec a la Pobre (Poor Man's Steak). He was feeling nostalgic for Chile and I guess this is what they would have a lot of when he lived there. It consists of the cheapest slab of meat you can find following by grilled onions with potatoes and rice topped with a fried egg. I only ate the steak and onion, but Matt loved it so that's all that matters.

These are the blackberries we picked on Saturday. Humongous.

We picked 3 lbs of blackberries, bought some homegrown squash, huge zucchini, that outrageous cucumber and some yummy tomatoes. All for 15 bucks.

This little guy was hanging out right by our front door when we got home. He was so cute, Matt wouldn't stop bothering him.

Baby Sunday: 32 weeks

I was looking through old photos and found a pic of me at only 10 weeks with the same shirt I was wearing a couple days ago. Let's do a little tummy comparison shall we?

Tummy at 10 weeks-puhleaze tummy, what tummy? I had no idea what was coming

Tummy exploding at 32 weeks. Yoah. Poor stretched out shirt.

Obsessions/Rampages: Water. I drink about 2.5 + Liters a day. Probably because when I step outside I sweat buckets and need to replenish, but still I drink a ton. Which means I have to pee a ton. It's a vicious cycle. Baby boy likes to dance on my bladder. I think I had my first Braxton Hicks contraction. It felt different then some of the normal growing pains I get so I'm assuming it was one. It was more shocking than painful to me. It is so fun to feel him move around so much. I think I've pinpointed his body parts that cause my stomach to look like a waterbed rolling around. Mood has been much better this week. I got sick of being grumpy so I decided I'm not going to be. Duh. Matt and I went to an Intro to Breastfeeding class held by the hospital I deliver at. It was pretty cool. They had this fake boob that they pass around so you can feel what a clogged duct feels like and all that good stuff. Lucky for Matt there were a bunch of other poor husbands that had been tricked into coming so he felt right at home:)

Elations/Worries: People are starting to ask if I want him to come out yet. I can honestly say, "No". I need a little more time to mentally prepare myself and he's not done cooking yet and I want him to be healthy. I'm elated for when he does come, my life will change forever. My friend Heartburn came to visit a couple of days this week. It's been bearable. I just pop a couple of rolaids and I'm good to go.

Aversions/Cravings: Again, cold stuff. It is just so stinking hot outside that the last thing I want to eat is something searing hot. And as I mentioned before water, lots of water. Oh and I may or may not have eaten almost a whole batch of rice crispy treats with Matt this weekend:)

Baby Sunday...to be continued

To the two readers that actually check this, all is quite on the baby front. I've just spent a leisurely Father's Day with my man and I'm going to bed. Don't worry I have plenty to post about tomorrow:)

Baby Sunday: 31 weeks

This week was a productive week of getting things ready for the baby. The crib and bedding is all set up and the rocker should be here in a week or so. I just have to order some finishing touches for the walls and windows, and wash his clothes. I'll post pics when it's all finished and cute. Matt spent hours out in the yard yesterday then we went to the pool and I neglected to put enough sun screen on myself, so I was lookin a little like a round tomato at church. Matt went to his first Astros game this week for work. He came home with a mini bat and a Roy Oswalt bobblehead for the baby. I think he got the mini bat for himself, he loves it. Other than that, this week has been uneventful and we can't wait for our little boy to arrive!

Baby Sunday: 31 weeks

Everyday picture

Dolled Up picture:)

Obsessions/Ramapages: Obsessed with trying to figure out which body part of his is kicking me and what position he is in. Sometimes I think it's his bum or head but I honestly have no clue. I have a renewed obsession with water and I am always drinking some. My moods fluctuate like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. It is unreal. I'm sobbing one second and laughing my guts out the next. So moody. Lucky Matt doesn't know which Megan he comes home to most days. He is so sweet and just takes it all in stride, love him. Generally these moods depend on how much sleep I got, if I slept well, if my back or hips hurt, or if I just feel like being a beast:)

Elations/Worries: Elated that baby is growing very well. I had an appointment this week and he is currently measuring in the 65th percentile for weight. That's my boy! Sometimes I worry about the whole labor process and how painful it can be, but I'm sure once he's ready to come I won't care how painful it is, I'll just want him out!

Aversions/Cravings: Sweets...again. I really feel like I could eat an entire chocolate cake.Right.Now. I've noticed that my stomach is starting to have less room so I eat less but more frequently. And cheese sounds good right now. Matt made cheese empanadas for dinner and they sure hit the spot. yum.

Baby Sunday: 30 weeks

This week was great! Lots of activities and church stuff going on. Matt got an additional calling at church and is now a Primary worker for the 7 turning 8 year olds. I love how he is such a kid and doing "kid" things never bother him and he thoroughly enjoys them. Love it. This weekend Matt and I went to a sweet block party that everyone in the neighboring streets came to. It was so fun to meet some of our new neighbors and chit chat with the ones we already know...for 31/2 hours! Before we knew it it was 10:30. Time flies when you're having fun!We got some monster mosquito bites but it was worth it. We had about 36 adults and 23 kids present. I love our neighbors. On Saturday we woke up early went to the Farmers Market, went to the temple and distribution center, ate lunch and saw UP. Cute movie. It was a good weekend.

Baby Sunday: 30 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: Obsessed and getting things ready for the baby. Only 2ish months left! I've had a sudden realization at how fast life goes by. I did some haircuts for the Sister Missionaries and for the first time I noticed my life further ahead of these women and I was the oldest one there. Weird, very weird. And I'm only 23. I've made a goal to not take the days for granted and not get caught in the mind trap of, "Oh I can't wait til this happens or til we are at this point in our lives." I'm going to try and live in the moment more and enjoy it while it lasts.

Elations/Worries: Elated that this week I had no back or hip pain whatsoever! Exercise and not sitting for more than 30mins helps a lot. It's either that or baby decided to change positions or something. But I feel great physically. I was a little more emotional this week but I'll take that instead of being uncomfortable. However, I really can't complain. I feel so blessed. No worries.

Aversions/Cravings: Cold things. Popsicles, fruit, smoothies. I get hot more easily now so those things always sound good.

Baby Sunday: 29 weeks

This week has been full of ups and downs. The week started off a little bumpy when I would wake up and feel like I had been hit by a truck, I was so worn out. From what? I have no idea. My body needed some serious rest for some reason. Then things got better as the week wore on and by Thursday I was feeling much better and getting things done in a normal time frame. Matt told me that since we were on vacation for Mother's Day he was going to do something for me once we got home. I told him I wanted it to be a surprise and a surprise it was! Note: I had no clue what we were going to be doing. On Saturday, we drove downtown and met up with our friend Jeff and his date for the day. We went to this adorable little restaurant for lunch called The Grove. It had the cutest decor and fresh dishes. I really liked it. Then I ask, "What are we doing next?" Matt says, "Oh we're going to the aquarium." I was slightly disappointed that that is what he had planned. But I said, "Oh neat!" Then I'm thinking, "Why the heck did he tell me to dress up then?" Little did I know Matt was being sneaky and I soon figured out we were headed to the theater. Jeff had the tickets so I didn't know what show we were seeing. We walk up to the door with our seats and I see the the playbill: TOPOL in FIDDLER IN THE ROOF! The Topol! The actor from the movie, who's played Tevye over 2,500 times in his career. He's on his farewell tour at 74 years old. I was sooooo excited! Just a few weeks ago I had mentioned that all the good tickets were taken and I was bummed that we won't get a chance to go. Matt had planned this thing out a month ago! I must say he usually can't keep things from me that long, but boy I was beyond thrilled! AND earlier in the week Matt painted my toenails for me because I am now having some difficulty comfortably reaching them. As my SIL Cher would say, "I think I hit the husband jackpot!":) Love him.

Baby Sunday: 29 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: The pregancy perks are now in full swing! Example #1- We stopped at a cute little donut vendor while we walked around downtown. Which bytheway is a bad idea in Houston in May. It was roasting hot. Well the lady who made our donuts says, "It's so hot out here, would you like a water bottle for free. You need to stay cooled off with that baby in there." Score, free food! She was so sweet. Example #2- I had to use the ladies room during intermission and the line was outrageous. So I'm standing there in doing the potty dance in all my pregnant glory when the gracious ladies around me say (in a Texas accent), "Oh honey, you can go on up to the front of the line, we understand don't you worry about a thing!" Have I mentioned how much I love southern hospitality and being pregnant. And no matter where I go I get nice comments about how cute I look. If I ever need a self esteem boost I just head on over to the beauty supply store and those ladies are so friendly and sweet. No rampages this week that I can think of.

Elations/Worries: Elated that I'm able to be as active as I've been up to this point. I feel very blessed. Worries- My back has been hurting be more and more when I sleep. I bought this special back n' belly pillow that helps a ton-which takes up half of our bed so I've said goodbye to latenight snuggling for now, but sitting through 3 hours of church is a little bit of a challenge. But I'm determined to tough it out because I've still got 11 weeks to go! Elated that I found a great Prenatal Yoga DVD. It feels so good to stetch out my body and be focused on the way my body moves. I think I may have been a hippie in a former life. Also elated once again with all the movement going on inside me. Although I think he's going to run out of room real fast!

Aversions/Cravings: Watermelon. And I've been slightly obsessed with MultiGrain Cheerios as my night time snack. Italian food has been popular this week too. Hummus has become an aversion and a craving. Aversion because I get heartburn afterwards and craving because well, who doesn't love hummus? So I eat it and I deal with the aftermath.

Baby Sunday: 28 Weeks, Vacations

Wow, the past week and a half has been a blur of activity with family and such. We went to Indiana for my brother Reece's graduation from Grad School and now my nephew says, "My dad's a Master Engineer!" Cute. We got to spend a lot of time with Nathan, Becca, Emmalee and the new addition Danielle. We went to the zoo and park and just played so that Shana could rest and nurse their new baby girl. We cleaned and watched the movers pack all their stuff up so that they can be even further away from us in Connecticut, but now we have an excuse to go visit someone on the East Coast so that should be fun. We got to see my Grandma Garrett, that we haven't seen in 4 years. Nothing has changed about her- she still likes to cook LOTS of food that should be illegal due to it's high fat content but boy was it delish. We got to take some family pics while we were there too. Here are a smattering of pictures:

Reece and Nathan with yummy graduation cake

Me and Emma(almost 3), Nathan(5), Becca(almost 3) (minus Danielle who was sleeping)

Matt trying out his photography skillz. He thought it would be funny for my stand with my "bump" under the tree's "bump".

Us again, because we are so dang good looking. And yes, Matt didn't shave. He woke up 2 seconds before we had to leave, the little turkey. Luckily he blends in really well with my brother's beard and my dad's mustache:)

The Fam- minus Devin, who will be photo shopped in.

Baby Sunday: 28 weeks

Belly Shot: I feel like my stomach has exploded the last couple of weeks

Obsessions/ Rampages: I'm in my third trimester! I can't believe it! It is now time to buckle down and buy more baby stuff. So many things have happened this week that I had to write them down so I didn't forget. #1 obsession- my new alien belly. Literally. I can see the baby moving sometimes and my stomach will ripple and move/jiggle. Awesome! Matt finally caught him in action yesterday and was very proud. #2 obsession- I can feel when he has the hiccups. I was sitting on the couch at Reece's and this soft but steady beat was going on in my stomach that I haven't felt before so I asked Shana what it was and sure enough it was the hiccups. I've noticed he gets them mostly when I drink carbonation or eat spicier foods and they only last for about a minute or so. Move over Matt there's a new boy that has stolen my heart!
#3 obsession
- I don't like to share my food. I'm very possessive over it. I feel like a 2 year old, "It's mine, don't touch it!" But that usually only happens when I'm starving and I turn into a banshee. Rampage: Let it be documented that I peed my pants involuntarily- in public, in the airport. I was headed to the bathroom when I had to sneeze, so I sneezed, and a gush of pee came out. GROSS! I zipped on into the bathroom to assess the damages. Lets just say that it was enough that luckily I was wearing black bottoms so you couldn't really tell, and bless the man that had to sit next to me on the airplane ride home. I probably smelled like a dirty cat. I texted Matt and he just laughed and texted back, "Didn't you know urine is the new Chanel?" Funny, very funny.

Elations/Worries: Elated about all the constant poking and prodding that the babe is doing. It is very enjoyable. Worries- Sometimes I forget I'm pregnant and then I remember and I panic. I think, "What the heck am I doing! This is a life I am going to be responsible for, I can't do this." That lasts for about a minute and I have the say a prayer in my heart and I am always comforted. Thank goodness for prayer. I think Satan wants my to feel inadequate but I'll show him! Also, my tailbone is very tender. So sitting for very long like a normal person is out of the question. Today at church we sat in a pew and I had 2 hymn books propped up under one side of my bum so I was leaning over and putting pressure on my side instead of on my tailbone. I would change sides after every speaker. It was actually Matt's idea and worked out very well. I can tell the baby's growth is picking up steam due to the round ligament pain I get everyday. Elation- I can't wait to meet him!

Aversions/Cravings: Last time I updated I said I wanted vegetables all the time. Not this time. Yesterday all I wanted was a big, fat, juicy burger. I was like "I'll eat some fruit and then see how I feel." An hour later I still wanted one! So I indulged myself and got a freaking BigMac at the beloved Golden Arches(aka McDonalds). I swear it was like 7 minutes in Heaven. That's about all, I eat like a pig. :)

Baby Update

Had my appointment and ultrasound this morning. Everything looks great! I passed my glucose tolerance test and all my blood work came back perfect. Baby is measuring big currently, so we'll see if that means I deliver early or have a humongous child! Here are some of his profile pics, she couldn't get a front one because he kept arching his head the whole time so it made him look funny. I don't know if this is how all babes look in the womb but I think he has my nose and those big Anderton eyes. Adorable.

Baby Sunday: 26 weeks-Vacation Edition

We are on vacation in Utah right now and leave tomorrow. It has been such a blast. We came for Nels wedding (tearfully gorgeous- I totally lost it in the sealing room). We got to go to Olivia's 4th birthday party-she is getting so grown up. Matt said the other day while watching a video of her riding her new bike, "Ohhh she was just born!" We stuffed our faces with plenty of Cafe Rio and Gandolfos. Amy and Mom A. through me a baby shower with all the Anderton cousins. I got some serious loot. We also got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Anderton- he entertained us with stories of his pilot years and one of blowing a squirrel's head off on the back porch. Hilarious those two! I love spending time with family. We get to see my family starting on Thursday so that should be a blast as well. Baby boy is kicking my ribs right now so I'm going to talk about him.

Baby Sunday: 26 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: Bubba is definitely growing faster and faster now. I can feel him starting to squish my ribs when I sit. My book says he is now the size of a 2lb chuck roast. He kicks the most at night and Liv actually got to feel him kick today. He is so strong. I love it. I'm told this is the best part of pregnancy- before you are too huge and uncomfortable. Only 3 more months, I'm so excited to see him! I have an appointment on Tuesday coupled with an ultrasound. I can't wait too see how much he's grown since my last one. I had my glucose tolerance test last week. It was easy peasy. I only had to do the 1 hour one and the stuff tasted like flat orange soda, so I didn't think it was bad at all.

Elations/Worries: Elated for all the decorating and planning I get to do when we get home. It will be so much fun. Worries- I had my first encounter with heartburn this week. I thought I was having a heart attack. Not fun. Luckily I new exactly what caused it- I ate way too much of a spicy taco salad. I've been able to avoid heartburn since then by eating smaller meals. I can't imagine getting it all the time like some people. I feel lucky so far, hopefully it stays that way.

Aversions/Cravings: I haven't been on my usual eating schedule since we've been on vacation and my body is telling me that I need to eat better. The last two days for dinner or snacks I've had vegetables. All I want is vegetables. But then I go and eat a bowl of ice cream so it's a little counter intuitive. I'm in love with cereal like always. That's about it. Not any major cravings or aversions.

Baby Sunday: 25 weeks

This week was just the same old routine, nothing too exciting. We've had some pretty crazy storms and school was canceled in some areas due to flooding, but now it's gorgeous and all the mosquitoes are out:) We went to the pool for the first time this weekend, I love the pool. It was so fun sitting there with my book and water just soaking up the rays. Putting my swimsuit on over my tummy is an Olympic event but once it's on it doesn't look too bad! We went and saw the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie this weekend. Before we left Matt took a shower after spending lots of time outside and he came out of the bathroom with this face. I about died with laughter! He calls it "Balding Wolverine". HAHA! We are heading out of town this week, and I could not be more excited! YEAH!

Baby Sunday: 25 weeks

Bare Belly Shot- I feel much bigger than this picture indicates.

Obsessions/Rampages: So apparently I'm 6 months pregnant now. WHAT! Time has been racing by! I was obsessed with clothes this week, but then after spending an entire afternoon shopping for various things, I realized that it's 500 degrees outside right now and I rarely change out of my workout clothes so why the heck am I wasting all my energy on stuff I'm going to wear maybe once! So tomorrow I'm going to pull a Mom Anderton and take half of the stuff back that I bought, she is the queen of returns. :) Rampages - I've been talking to some ladies about what type of birthing process they chose and all that stuff and I've come to realize that I just shouldn't ask anymore. Some have such STRONG opinions about you should do this and not do that and yada yada yada but you know what every woman is different and therefore every process is different. There is no right or wrong way, it is what is right or wrong for you. Given, I like to know what to expect and have a mild plan worked out in my head, but for all I know it may not go that way. I just hate it when women gang up on each other and get all stuck up about childbearing and rearing. Just a tidbit or what's been on my mind lately. Man, I just can't wait to go on vacation and see family!

Elations/Worries: Elations- I think we've narrowed down a name for baby boy. We have two that we feel are good names. I think we'll wait to see what he looks like when he pops out to make a firm decision. It's much more difficult than I thought it would be. Worries- My tailbone hurts if I sit for too long. I prefer standing to sitting most of the time. And I swear every joint pops and moves in my body. Everything is getting loosened up to make room for more baby. I am constantly amazed at what the human body can do, it reaffirms in my mind that we were created my a Divine source and none else.

Aversions/Cravings: Chips and Salsa! scrumptious! Apples are really yummy too. Other than that I am into eating everything most of the time. And I CANNOT WAIT for the deliciousness that our vacation will soon have to offer me! Get in my belly!
