Videos Of Elijah and Oliver

I think this video is so cute of Elijah. He just discovered how to blow bubbles my himself.

Oliver 5.5 months. Sorry for the blurry video, must have been a fingerprint on my camera lens.

In his Sunday best- 4.5 months

-Oliver is the sweetest, happiest baby. He only cries when he's hungry or tired. That's it. Oh and if Elijah runs up to him really fast and screams in his face, scaring him :). Oliver is very mellow and easy going. He will happily fall asleep in his carseat with a little bit of swinging or movement wherever we are. And he'll even fall asleep in my arms! Which I LOVE. Such a snuggler. He's much more mellow than I remember Elijah being or maybe I've just mellowed out. Probably both.
-He's starting to be very vocal about when he wants to be held and not left alone. Sometimes he'll just scream when I put him down and walk away. He's stares at me like, "Where are you going?! Come pick me up!" He loves to be held. I may have another mama's boy on my hands. Which I don't mind for one second. I love my babies!
-Is only getting one bottle of breastmilk now. I am done pumping. And I can proudly say I pumped for what felt like FOREVER and my baby got mostly breastmilk for the first 6 months + of his life. I'm so glad I stuck it out. And if anyone gives me a hard time about it, I could just punch them in the face :) (You wouldn't believe how vocal some people are about breastfeeding in our ward. Unbelievable.)
-Sleeps like a champ. 7-7. Two 2-3 hour naps a day. With a little cat nap in the evenings. Loves to be swaddled up really tight.
-Rolls around really well. He seems much more active with his body than Elijah was. He'll inch worm around a little on his tummy and slowly go around in a circle while on his tummy.
-Can almost sit up by himself. He just doesn't sit still very long. He likes kicking his legs too much.
-Loves jumping in his exercauser.
-Eats 5 times a day. Tried oatmeal and loved it. He's catching on to this 'eating from a spoon' thing.
-Is starting to put everything in his mouth and chewing on it.
-Is mastering the art of taking his binky in and out.
-He and Elijah have started interacting more. Elijah makes funny noises or plays peek-a-boo and Oliver laughs it up. They are so cute together.
-When I put him down to sleep he loves when I stroke his face and rock him back in forth. Then I put his softy blanket next to his face and he starts to drift off to sleep. So precious. I treasure these days because I know too soon that he won't want to snuggle like that with me.

Elijah 2.75 year old

Kids grow so fast. Elijah has changed a bunch in the last 2 months. He continues to be a sweet boy. Usually obedient and helpful. Although he does get his fair share of time-outs. He likes to spit when he's told he can't do something, which usually lands him in one.

-When we leave stores, I usually have to bribe him with gum to get him out. He loves gum. Calls it,"Num, yum".
-Is very helpful with the Oliver. He finds binky's for me and puts them in his mouth. If we are about to go somewhere he always asks, "Baby?" with his hands up. He wants to make sure the baby is coming with us.
-Loves sleeping with the following in his bed: Elmo, Elephant, Dog, Bear and Rabbit. Along with the usual blanket and softy blankets. Matt started this. I am anti-stuffed animals. But once Matt let him do it once, we can never go back without a melt down.
-His fine motor skills are amazing. He loves doing puzzles and is kind of unbelievable at them.
-He is learning his alphabet and can count to 10. His favorite letters are, 'O', 'P', and 'B'. He points them out on just about everything.
-He could spend forever playing with water and dirt outside.
-Loves the Lion King and is currently obsessed with Nemo.
-When he is looking for something he puts his finger to his cheek and says, "hmmm. hmmm." Then when he finds what he's looking for he says, "A HA!"
-Loves "helping" me make cookies. Loves scooping flour and sugar. He cracked his first egg today all by himself. I went to the pantry and when I came back, he'd cracked an egg into the bowl and put the empty shell in the garbage. ALL PERFECTLY. I couldn't find a trace of shell anywhere. Either he's been watching me really close or we make cookies too much :)
-He is still pretty hesitant about new people and situations. Still screams when we take him to nursery, but stops once we leave. He's getting better though as I've made a point about him hanging out with more kids.
-Is slowly learning how to go potty. Goes every night before bed and gets a Starburst if he does.
-I don't know if it's just the age or his personality, but he's starting to sprout some stubbornness. He won't say words that I ask him to, just because he doesn't want to. He wants things to be his idea. Starting to become so independent.
-When he wants to do something he says, "I Try", or "I See".

He is very attached to stuffed animals at stores now. This is the pathetic face he gives us when we tell him to put the animals back.

On this day, we walked around with this laundry basket on his head about 20 mins. No big deal.

Rodeo Houston

The Rodeo was awesome this year! Elijah is at the age where he really enjoys things rather than us just dragging him around. Oliver was a gem and didn't make a peep the whole time and just chilled in the stroller. Although the pictures say otherwise, he really did have a good time. We left around nap time thinking Elijah would be fine missing his nap. This day, not so much. He was a little grumpy and whiny. Which was unfortunate since we wanted him to experience everything and have fun. We made the most of it and still had a good time. Next year will be even better!

Elijah loved seeing all the animals and playing 'farmer' in the kid section. They got to redeem the food that they sowed for a treat at the end. Such a cute idea. I was feeding Oliver in a nearby pavilion so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked.
On the tractor at the farm.

Brushing the animals hair

Feeding the goats. He loves feeding animals.

Biggest rabbit I've ever seen

Taking a train ride. It was really warm out that day. 85 degrees in March!

Passed out on the way home

Yummy Rodeo food. Tried a fried snickers-yummy!
