Baby Sunday #2- 25 weeks

Holy Cow, I'm over 6 months pregnant. This pregnancy has flown by way faster than the first one.

Obsessions/ Rampages: Obsessions- We have kind of been in panic mode making room for the baby. We sold a bunch of stuff on Kingwood Yard Sales (so we have the dough to furnish the room with what we want) and have been organizing many areas that have been neglected for a while. Nothing like a deadline to get you motivated! Rampages- just feeling like a cow on some days, and a geriatric on others (creaking, peeing). Sidenote: Had my Glucose tolerance test yesterday. I really don't know why people complain about that thing. It not that bad, in fact, it was awesome! I got to sit in a waiting room and read a book for an hour, all by myself. Kinda felt like a mini vacation:)

Elations/ Worries: Elations- Matt felt the baby move at 23 weeks. He is now quite strong and I can occasionally see my belly jiggle when he kicks. It is so fun to feel all the movements. Elated I have a real belly, although I still have people asking me as if it weren't obvious. Either I thought my stomach was flatter than it really was pre-baby or I just happen to hide a baby well. I think I'll go with the latter :) Elated that my energy is back- around 22 weeks I was just dying and tired all.the.time. And my head hurt a lot. So I pretty much stopped working out during Elijah's naps (now I do yoga in the mornings while he watches a show) and I've been making sure I eat better meals/ snacks and drinking tons of water. I also take a nap on some days of the week. Now I feel 10 x better! Although I really miss being able to run and be really active, I've decided this is the one time I have a good excuse not to be :) Worries- Around 24 weeks Elijah and I took a walk to the park (about a 2 mile walk round trip ) and then I did a bunch of house work (laundry, sweeping, lots of standing on my feet). I was feeling a lot of pressure on the underside of my belly. Then later I noticed a tiny bit of blood when I went to the bathroom. I FREAKED out! Cried, called Matt. etc. But I guess it's normal sometimes. So I immediately put Elijah down for a nap and Matt made me rest for the rest of the weekend. Nothing else has happened since, and I think the baby must have changed to a position a little lower because now I have the worst sciatic nerve pain you could imagine. I can't walk fast or move very well in certain directions. I'm just hoping it either stays the same the rest of the pregnancy or gets better. I'm getting used to walking slow running errands, not making really sudden movements and Elijah has learned real fast that mommy doesn't pick him up much any more. I'm a little sad that soon he won't have all my attention, I feel like I'm robbing him of some of his one on one time. But I know he is going to be the best big brother. He is so sweet and helpful. Can't wait to add another one! Oh and we have been obsessed with names lately, we've thought of one we really like I'm just still trying to get used to it.

Aversions/Cravings: I eat everything now. I'm just selective about what I put in my mouth. Too much sugar makes me ill. But other than that I have a hearty appetite. Craving- Hummus. I make a new batch of hummus every week. Love the stuff. Put it on sandwiches mostly and eat with multigrain chips. mmmm hummus! And water, I drink tons of water. It is SO hot here, that you have to just to replenish the fluid you lose walking from the car into the store!

And because Elijah is so freaking cute, we have these pics of him. He finally fits into this outfit that Matt used to wear at his age. He looks like a little Dutch boy. Matt kept yelling, "Ricoooolaaaa". And these were taken after church, hence the ruffled hair and pink cheeks, who knew nursery could be so rough :)
