Help me decide!! Elijah is getting very uncomfortable and squirmy in his bumbo so I figure we should buckle down and get him a high chair. I've narrowed it down to two. They both will suit our needs for now and basically til we are done having children- so in like 8 years or so. Don't judge me for the sticker shock. We're investing in it for the long haul people. But if you have a high chair that you love I would LOVE to know! So which would you pick and why??

I have the fisher price booster/high chair combo that straps on to a chair. Not exactly the higher end of the line, but I really like that I can take it anywhere and that Evie has always been at the table with us (don't have to clean off the tray, a task I hate). I've been impressed with the peg perergo ones, but I don't like having a big chair taking up room in my kitchen :)
i like the wood one...im not a fan of super modern kids furniture i think in 10 years it will look old i really like the wood one though!
I also have the Fisher Price booster chair combo, (and I know like 10 other people who have it and love it), and I've have had any complaints. It goes anywhere with us, and like the other girl said, you don't even have to use a tray. (Although I used it with both my kids until they were around a year and a half or so.) The best part is, only $30. I've had the same one through 2 kids now and it's still in perfect shape. I'm just not the type to have this big chair sitting around, plus, they get really dirty.
I like the wood too, it may get scratches, but I think it will look better in your kitchen.
I LOVE my Fisher-Price Booster seat combos because they can disappear in an instant and are easy to take with you to restaurants, friend's houses, etc. And if you don't cut up your child's food directly on the tray, it will stay looking nice for as long as you own the seat. (Knife cuts in the plastic attract permanent stains and make it look trashy:)
Cher and Laurel use(d) the one-piece $28 ikea high chair. It is very lightweight and easy to move around.

Both are inexpensive and wipe up well--no hard to clean lines or crevices or plastic seat covers to get dirty or cracked with age. I personally would NOT invest in an expensive high chair.
I detested Amy's big high chair. (Sorry Amy) It was huge and was a big chore to clean up AND it was so comfy with all that padding that the kids sometimes fell asleep in it. (I prefer naps in beds:)
I have cleaned up the twins ikea high chairs numerous times over the past couple of weeks and it was always a breeze. The only drawback to the ikea ones are since the tray doesn't adjust at all, there is a large space between the child and the tray and a lot of spillage can go on but hey, you know I'm a compulsive bib user so no problem for me. I'd rather put on a big bib than scrub stains out any day. THE END.
