Baby Sunday: 33 weeks AND MATT'S BIRTHDAY!

Yesterday was Matt's 28th Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We kicked off his birthday by having him take a half day off of work on Friday. We went to this Chilean restaurant that Matt really wanted to go to. It was apparently very authentic. We walked in and Matt was totally in his element. He was speaking Spanish like it was his native tongue. I loved it. I've never seen him so comfortable. Then we went and saw My Sister's Keeper. And yes Matt wanted to see it, I didn't make him. But I must warn you, YOU WILL CRY YOUR GUTS OUT! I was sobbing, full on ugly face sobbing. Great story. Then we went to the bookstore and vegged. Then Matt said that since it is his birthday he should be able to go to Panda Express. Gag. I loathe that place, but it was his birthday so I obliged. On Saturday for his real birthday I made him french toast for breakfast and he did some yard work, I made a delicious birthday cake, we went to the pool and came home and watched a movie. We are so exciting. Here are a few pics:

Pretty Cake
Chilean Restaurant Upclose
Chilean Restaurant- It wasn't in the nicest part of town and it is missing an "L" after the "E"

Pastel de Choclo- Matt thought it was heaven, me not so much

I ordered a completo. It's essentialy a hotdog the size of your head smothered in tomatoes, avocado and mayo. Yummy

Baby Sunday: 33 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: I think I've felt some nesting going on. I feel the need to tackle more things on my to do list instead of putting them off. Baby boy is only + or - 7 weeks away from getting here. He is getting big. He likes to kick my right side the most and sticks his little bum up into my rib, or at least I think it's his bum. I was gazing at my wardrobe today and dreaming of when I would be able to wear some of my tops again. Finding something to wear for church is a bit of a challenge especially since it's 500 degrees outside and layers aren't fun to wear. Oh well, what can you do. I love my little boy.

Elations/Worries: Like I said, peanut is growing big and strong. Really happy about that. My hips have been killing me the last couple of days and my joints seem to pop with every movement. So I've decided to go to the pool more so I can get some of the pressure off of my body, at least for a little while.

Aversions/Cravings: I've had a sudden craving for cereal this week. I think the coldness of it just sounds good all the time. The only aversion this week was some of Matt's Chilean food, but really that stuff is an acquired taste for most people.

Baby Sunday on Monday: 32 weeks

This week was fantastic. We got oodles of stuff done and in order. I love being productive. The highlights of the weekend are as follows. Friday- Matt and I have gotten back into watching old movies so we watched "On the Waterfront" with Marlon Brando. I've forgotten how good those movies are, people really knew how to act back then. We rented a whole bunch from the library that we hope to watch soon. Saturday- We woke up nice and early, went to breakfast at Panera (which bytheway has the most amazing veggie cream cheese spread I've ever tasted, I was freaking out the whole time I was eating it). Then we went and pick blackberries at a farm about 30 mins from our house. It was so much fun to hunt down the best berries. Then we hit the Costco to stock up on some stuff before the baby comes. We now have toilet paper and paper towels coming out of our ears. Then we came home, unloaded our loot and as we were about to head to the local grocery store for some Father's Day stuff I backed up into our neighbors truck parked on the other side of the street! It sounded horrible, I about died. So while I was sobbing with guilt and embarrassment Matt went and talked to them and looked at the damages. It only broke our taillight and made a dent by their door handle. Hopefully we'll be able to pay them under the table if it doesn't cost much to fix so we don't have to report it to insurance. After that, Matt drove around for the rest of our errands:) After that fiasco, we took a drink break at Sonic- which always turns into me sneaking some of Matt's sodie while he attempts to slap my hand away from it. We went to the Dollar Store to pick up some organizers for Matt's office, which is a disaster of unorganization. We're hoping to remedy that this week. Then we came home and crashed for the rest of the night. Sunday- The Father's Day program at church was good and Matt and I are the new, cool couple that the kids under 3 like to come and play with during sacrament. Our hometeachers little girl Abbie, who is almost 2, grabs some books and beelines for our pew and sits with us and reads during sacrament. And our friends little girl Paige kept looking over at us on the other side of the chapel and saying, "I want to go play with Brother and Sister Anderton." We thought we were pretty cool hanging with the little kids. We love it. I think I smell a nursery calling coming on sometime in the future. Here are some pics from the weekend:

Matt's Father's Day Breakfast. We rounded up Sister Metcalf's crepe recipe and my oh my was it good.

THIS is what Matt REQUESTED for his Father's Day dinner. Bistec a la Pobre (Poor Man's Steak). He was feeling nostalgic for Chile and I guess this is what they would have a lot of when he lived there. It consists of the cheapest slab of meat you can find following by grilled onions with potatoes and rice topped with a fried egg. I only ate the steak and onion, but Matt loved it so that's all that matters.

These are the blackberries we picked on Saturday. Humongous.

We picked 3 lbs of blackberries, bought some homegrown squash, huge zucchini, that outrageous cucumber and some yummy tomatoes. All for 15 bucks.

This little guy was hanging out right by our front door when we got home. He was so cute, Matt wouldn't stop bothering him.

Baby Sunday: 32 weeks

I was looking through old photos and found a pic of me at only 10 weeks with the same shirt I was wearing a couple days ago. Let's do a little tummy comparison shall we?

Tummy at 10 weeks-puhleaze tummy, what tummy? I had no idea what was coming

Tummy exploding at 32 weeks. Yoah. Poor stretched out shirt.

Obsessions/Rampages: Water. I drink about 2.5 + Liters a day. Probably because when I step outside I sweat buckets and need to replenish, but still I drink a ton. Which means I have to pee a ton. It's a vicious cycle. Baby boy likes to dance on my bladder. I think I had my first Braxton Hicks contraction. It felt different then some of the normal growing pains I get so I'm assuming it was one. It was more shocking than painful to me. It is so fun to feel him move around so much. I think I've pinpointed his body parts that cause my stomach to look like a waterbed rolling around. Mood has been much better this week. I got sick of being grumpy so I decided I'm not going to be. Duh. Matt and I went to an Intro to Breastfeeding class held by the hospital I deliver at. It was pretty cool. They had this fake boob that they pass around so you can feel what a clogged duct feels like and all that good stuff. Lucky for Matt there were a bunch of other poor husbands that had been tricked into coming so he felt right at home:)

Elations/Worries: People are starting to ask if I want him to come out yet. I can honestly say, "No". I need a little more time to mentally prepare myself and he's not done cooking yet and I want him to be healthy. I'm elated for when he does come, my life will change forever. My friend Heartburn came to visit a couple of days this week. It's been bearable. I just pop a couple of rolaids and I'm good to go.

Aversions/Cravings: Again, cold stuff. It is just so stinking hot outside that the last thing I want to eat is something searing hot. And as I mentioned before water, lots of water. Oh and I may or may not have eaten almost a whole batch of rice crispy treats with Matt this weekend:)

Baby Sunday...to be continued

To the two readers that actually check this, all is quite on the baby front. I've just spent a leisurely Father's Day with my man and I'm going to bed. Don't worry I have plenty to post about tomorrow:)

Baby Sunday: 31 weeks

This week was a productive week of getting things ready for the baby. The crib and bedding is all set up and the rocker should be here in a week or so. I just have to order some finishing touches for the walls and windows, and wash his clothes. I'll post pics when it's all finished and cute. Matt spent hours out in the yard yesterday then we went to the pool and I neglected to put enough sun screen on myself, so I was lookin a little like a round tomato at church. Matt went to his first Astros game this week for work. He came home with a mini bat and a Roy Oswalt bobblehead for the baby. I think he got the mini bat for himself, he loves it. Other than that, this week has been uneventful and we can't wait for our little boy to arrive!

Everyday picture

Dolled Up picture:)

Obsessions/Ramapages: Obsessed with trying to figure out which body part of his is kicking me and what position he is in. Sometimes I think it's his bum or head but I honestly have no clue. I have a renewed obsession with water and I am always drinking some. My moods fluctuate like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. It is unreal. I'm sobbing one second and laughing my guts out the next. So moody. Lucky Matt doesn't know which Megan he comes home to most days. He is so sweet and just takes it all in stride, love him. Generally these moods depend on how much sleep I got, if I slept well, if my back or hips hurt, or if I just feel like being a beast:)

Elations/Worries: Elated that baby is growing very well. I had an appointment this week and he is currently measuring in the 65th percentile for weight. That's my boy! Sometimes I worry about the whole labor process and how painful it can be, but I'm sure once he's ready to come I won't care how painful it is, I'll just want him out!

Aversions/Cravings: Sweets...again. I really feel like I could eat an entire chocolate cake.Right.Now. I've noticed that my stomach is starting to have less room so I eat less but more frequently. And cheese sounds good right now. Matt made cheese empanadas for dinner and they sure hit the spot. yum.

Baby Sunday: 30 weeks

This week was great! Lots of activities and church stuff going on. Matt got an additional calling at church and is now a Primary worker for the 7 turning 8 year olds. I love how he is such a kid and doing "kid" things never bother him and he thoroughly enjoys them. Love it. This weekend Matt and I went to a sweet block party that everyone in the neighboring streets came to. It was so fun to meet some of our new neighbors and chit chat with the ones we already know...for 31/2 hours! Before we knew it it was 10:30. Time flies when you're having fun!We got some monster mosquito bites but it was worth it. We had about 36 adults and 23 kids present. I love our neighbors. On Saturday we woke up early went to the Farmers Market, went to the temple and distribution center, ate lunch and saw UP. Cute movie. It was a good weekend.

Baby Sunday: 30 weeks

Obsessions/Rampages: Obsessed and getting things ready for the baby. Only 2ish months left! I've had a sudden realization at how fast life goes by. I did some haircuts for the Sister Missionaries and for the first time I noticed my life further ahead of these women and I was the oldest one there. Weird, very weird. And I'm only 23. I've made a goal to not take the days for granted and not get caught in the mind trap of, "Oh I can't wait til this happens or til we are at this point in our lives." I'm going to try and live in the moment more and enjoy it while it lasts.

Elations/Worries: Elated that this week I had no back or hip pain whatsoever! Exercise and not sitting for more than 30mins helps a lot. It's either that or baby decided to change positions or something. But I feel great physically. I was a little more emotional this week but I'll take that instead of being uncomfortable. However, I really can't complain. I feel so blessed. No worries.

Aversions/Cravings: Cold things. Popsicles, fruit, smoothies. I get hot more easily now so those things always sound good.
