Baby Sunday: 13 weeks

Rampages/Obsessions: Not many obsessions this week. Mom A sent us some adorable little clothes that I pretended was a baby and stuff. That was fun. Matt would toss the nighty up in the air and coo at the invisible child. We were laughing pretty hard at ourselves, but hey what can I say we are very excited. Also, I love our neighbors. They really are the best. We had a little cookout in the neighboring cul-de-sac a few days ago and since I told our neighbor Stephanie that I was pregnant naturally everyone else knew by the time I saw them next. They were all congratulating us and the gals were already talking about throwing me a baby shower. We are so blessed, we couldn't ask for a better neighborhood.

Elations/Worries: Things have been very chill this week, I got to see the peanut last Tuesday for another ultrasound that was voluntary to test for abnormalities. I thought what they hey, I'll get to see the baby again. It was THE funnest day ever. I go in and the babe is all wiggly and moving around. I got see the nose and some little fingers. Such a miracle. And again I'm elated to be a mom. I'm also elated that I can FINALLY tell a LITTLE bit that their is a baby in my tummy. To an outsider it may appear that I'm just bloated or have just eaten a Thanksgiving dinner, but it's really fun to try and stick my stomach out just see what I could look like in a couple months. And sorry to say this if your a dude, but I'm elated at my new found bosom. Really my shirts have never looked better:) I'm not worried about much this week, just the havoc these hormones are wreaking on my face. My skin is SO dry and I've always had oily skin, so that is a little weird and get this I HAVE A COLD SORE. SICK! I haven't had one of these in like 7 years. Ugh it is the ugliest thing ever. Luckily I think I've nipped it in the bud before it gets too bad, but what a shocker to wake up to one next to my mouth.

Aversions/Cravings: Let it be recorded that last Friday I had my first taste of meat in a month and a half. Given, it was a hot dog so it really wasn't meat but it was a monumental day. This last week has been much better as far as nausea goes, but at around 8:00pm I start to get really nauseous and all I want to do is fall into bed. So that is what I do to get rid of it, I go to bed. Then when I wake up I feel like my old self again and continue on as usual. I even had enough energy to work out last Friday for the first time since I got sick. It felt so good! I missed it. I still like cereal and fruit mostly. I've also added yogurt to my repertoire but only key lime pie and blackberry flavors. No crazy cravings yet, although I have to say that I'm becoming slightly obsessed with tomato based foods- like salsa and tomato sauce.

When I was pregnant, I couldn't get enough fruit. I wanted it all the time. Then I read in the What to Expect book that fruit is one of the most common pregnancy cravings. I thought that was funny because until then I'd never heard that before. One usually thinks of junk food as being a pregnancy craving, but since then, I've heard from lots of others that they also craved fruit like crazy.
