Baby Sunday: 12 weeks

Ha! I remembered Baby Sunday. Really, Matt remembered but I'm doing it! So here it is...

Obsessions/Rampages:

I'm obsessed with getting this house mostly furnished at the moment. I'm hoping our sweet tax return will accommodate that. Hoping on getting some more furniture for the living room and our bedroom. I've pretty much decided on a crib for now, and all I need is a comfy chair for feeding. I got a cute changing table from Mom A. I'm banking on getting plenty of hand me downs for bouncers and stuff from my sister, and I'm sure I'll get plenty of clothes from people as gifts and such. Plus let's be honest, this babe is due in August and it's going to be surface of the sun hot. So he or she will be living in onesies for a while. If it's a boy (which I'm hoping for) I already have Matt's blessing outfit hanging nicely in the baby's closet. I also got a great baby car seat that my gracious SIL Cher was going to give away. And of course there are all the little cute things you get for the baby room that'll I'll think about once we find out the sex. And for the record Matt doesn't want to know, but I can't have that kind of spontaneity for my first child so he'll have to wait til we have some more kiddos.
Elation's/Worries:
I've been really elated lately. I find myself rubbing my nonexistent belly and thinking of the baby and wishing it was here already. I'm ready for a change. I'm tired of thinking of myself and having the same old routine. I'm ready for a baby to shake things up:) Our friends the Zimmermans brought their new 2 week old little girl to church today. I can't believe/forgot how tiny newborns are. So cute!
Aversions/Cravings:
I live off of cold cereal generally. The last couple of days my tummy has been cooperating so I have been adventurous and added pasta to the mix. But nothing fancy, just tomato sauce. Today I had a little more energy so I decided to be a good housewife and actually feed my husband, and not make him eat another frozen meal. I'm (and when I see "I"m" I mean Matt was a big help also) making Cafe Rio salads, mmmmm my mouth waters just thinking of it. NOT the meat part but mostly the dressing with rice and beans. Meat is still a huge aversion, I've basically been a vegetarian the last month and a half. (Matt is the one making the meat part for the salads we're having) My tummy appreciates it but my blood sugar doesn't. I get headaches a lot and become hungry really fast since I don't get as much protein in my diet. But I'd rather my head hurt than puke. I'm hoping that this current wave of feeling good is a sign that the end is near for this part of the pregnancy.

And in case I don't see ya, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Goodnight!(Brownie points for whoever can name that movie:)

Spotting racoons left and right... Good afternoon, good evening and good night... Megan, I love your movie/tv quotes. You should be a game show host -- after the baby is born.

By the way, "J" stands for Jim and Freida -- don't quite have my Gmail account set up right yet.

Awwww. Someone already answered. I love the name the movie game. Sounds like you are way too prepared for this baby already! :) Just kidding! Do you know when your ultrasound will be to find out the gender? Usually it is between 16-20 weeks. I'm excited to find out! I'm guessing boy, just so you know! :)

I haven't checked on you in a while and look at all you've posted! I can't believe so many weeks have gone by since Christmas. I'm so glad you are keeping track of everything, what a great journal. Too bad blogging wasn't around a long time ago for me...
Can't wait to see the baby and you better do tummy shots! xoxo

Megan, I saw your comment and funny thing is I actually was reading the blog stephmodo.com and it linked to her sister's house, which was the link you gave me as well. So yes, I HAVE seen her pics (and I see she commented here too, how funny), and she has amazing taste! I would love to have her home! :)

You guys are pregnant!! Congrats! I really, really loved being pregnant, as it sounds like you are too. Enjoy it. It's such a fun time in life. And I love how you said you want to shake things up form your normal routine - ha! I'v never thought of it that way before, but how true is that. Babies add so much to a marriage! Congratulations!
