Elijah 2.5 years old

Oh Mr. Elijah you are such a joy! Couldn't imagine our lives without him. He is turning into such a little boy! Loves running everywhere, jumping off of everything, and being aggressive.

- Loves trains but is becoming obsessed with CARS characters. He can name all the cars from the movie and points them out in his book at bedtime.
- Loves reading Richard Scarry books. He likes looking for all the foxes and hats.
- His speech has taken off the last few weeks. He's linking together 3 word phrases now. And if I don't understand him the first time he is very insistent about telling me over and over until I get it right. He'll say, "No, no (insert word)"
- Has started calling me "Ahme" instead of "mama"
- Every morning he wakes up and says "Whe Dad?"
- Is huge. 33lbs. Towers over most kids in nursery. Fits into 3T clothing nicely. Which reminds me: he went to Senior Nursery for the first time last week. Matt has been in nursery with him since day one with his calling but not anymore! He did exactly what I thought he would-flipped out, then settled down after a few minutes.
- Is hesitant around other children. He just stares most of the time, then when they leave their toy, he swoops in, snatches it and runs! I'm sure as we expose him to more situations where we aren't around he'll learn how to defend himself.
- Goes potty every night before bed. Baby steps to potty training.
- Has the prettiest eyes and great hair.
- Has my wide feet. I can only fit his feet into Crocs or the special wide sizes. Size 8.
- Is getting really good at pretend play. I catch him pretending in his toy kitchen with my oven mitts and making "zoom, zoom" noises with his cars and driving them all over the place.
- Loves going to the park.
- Chipped his front tooth a few weeks ago. Matt was chasing him and he biffed and hit the tile. He'll have a wonky smile til that tooth falls out. So cute.
- Still naps for 1.5- 2 hours a day. Sleeps 7pm to whenever I get him out of his crib. :)
- Is very obedient most of the time and gets excited over the smallest things. Like getting the mail or going to CVS. He'll say, "Oh, yeah! Wow!"

Smile he gave me after I caught him eating all the tops off of a plate of cupcakes I left on the counter. Little stinker.

Oliver- 4 months

Stats: 15lbs 2oz. (50th%)
           25.5" long (70th%)
           17.25" head (87th%)
So overall, well proportioned with a slightly large head, must take after his father. :)

Oliver is such a good baby. He coos and laughs and is just plain happy. Of course he gets grumpy when he's overtired or starving but who doesn't? He has such a sweet spirit. Sometimes after I feed him before bed he just stares right into my eyes and coos at me for 5-10 mins. I feel like we have a special bond during those moments. I still can't tell what he is going to look like. I think he and Elijah will look like brothers but Oliver seems to have more of me in his features. We shall see.

Some Facts about Oliver @ 4 months
- GREAT sleeper. Goes down for bed at 7, we give him a little snack at 10 and he sleeps til between 7-8. He doesn't do as well napping in his crib during the day, but he will sleep forever in his carseat, which makes running errands nice. He still seems to be working out the kinks with gas and pooping so sometimes that wakes him up, but he's easy to put back to bed at night.
- Still getting mostly breastmilk in a bottle (5oz), with about 2 bottles of formula thrown in there so I can stay ahead. Which reminds me: I made it to 4 months pumping! Yoohoo! I've now cut down my pumping to only 4 times a day, which is much more manageable. Next goal is 5 months. Then if I'm lucky 6. I'll probably stop then. I think my pump and I need to be separated for a while. :)
- ROLLED OVER yesterday. Tummy to back. I can't believe it.
- In size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothing.
- Becoming very verbal. Talks, laughs and smiles like nobody's business!
- Still appears to have blue eyes
- Has started finding his hands and drooling on them
- Loves playing peek-a-boo.
- Loves when I sing Baa Baa Black Sheep
- When he goes to sleep he nuzzles his little softy blanket and his eyes roll as he settles down to slumber.
- Is getting really good at not becoming startled when Elijah screams or some other loud noise happens. He just chills.
- He get so mad when you take his bottle away before he's finished. And when he knows it's time to eat he starts breathing really fast and kicks his little legs in anticipation. Cutest thing.
